You Can't Dream Forever

Okay before the first thing that pops into your head is 'Is he going to kill her?' The answer is NO!

This is actually a 'moment' picture from one of the books I am writing. (Miko don't kill me I'm working on THAT too, I just got a little sidetracked!!)

Here's the story behind the scene pictured here:

Where could she possibly have gone? When they came upon the town she had been gone to some deed she chose to do alone, as she did often so for the time Ginn had not worried for her safety but now that the hoard was dealt with and she was still no where to be found he grew greatly concerned. Had she returned only to be attacked? Was she dead? Or worse?
He trusted in the small amulet that Celest had given him, if anything could lead him to her, that was it. For a long time the amulet remained cool to his skin and fear grew ever stronger within him. Only the momentary flash of warmth assured him that she was indeed still breathing, of what harm may have come to her he could not know until he found her. As he had become very keen at doing Ginn followed the warm-cold lead of the amulet until he found himself near a large lake.
This place was familiar to him and now that he saw it, he knew where to find the girl that had driven him to near panic. How many times had he found her here, 'daydreaming' she called it. Indeed there she sat, her face buried in her hands and beneath her thick copper hair. She was beautiful there especially after the carnage he had just seen and as he became all too aware, wore.
"Celest," Ginn stayed some distance from the quiet girl. He felt that being too close would cause her to become uncomfortable with him, he was quite uncomfortable with himself at the moment. "Celest!" He called again urging her from her deep thoughts.
Finally she looked up at the man standing covered in blood at the foot of the dock. "Ginn! What happened to you?"
"I am not injured. What of you, have you been here this whole time?"
"I guess I have." Celest sounded guilty, she knew she missed a battle that many likely were harmed in and she had been here doing nothing but thinking.
Ginn sighed, "You know," He laughed slightly at the whole situation, "You can't dream all the time Celest. Someday you will have to put those thoughts to motion and save us all."
"What if I can't?"
"You can. You have to."
